About
Karen Banks
I am a qualified Counsellor, Psychotherapist and Hypnotherapist and have been working as a therapist for over 25 years.
My approach is based on a range of therapeutic techniques including Person-centered Counselling, Psychodynamic therapy, Hypnotherapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) .
I offer a confidential, non-judgemental and non-directive space to support you to develop a better understanding of yourself and others by exploring your thoughts, behaviours and feelings. All of us face difficulties at points in our lives - Counselling and Hypnotherapy can help us make sense of what is happening, make effective changes, find new solutions or more effective ways of dealing with problems.
I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and an accredited member of the National Counselling Society (NCS). I follow the ethical guidelines of these professional bodies ensuring that I am working safely and with your best interests.
Alongside working in private practice, I specialise in grief and bereavement counselling and work with both Cruse and within Hospice organisations.
